Roseanne Seymour, a model and television presenter, told the Herald on Sunday her designer gown was bought on the internet.
"It was a Vera Wang prom gown," she said. "We were looking for something that was completely different. It was quite a few sizes too big. My mum's a dressmaker. She had to do quite a few alterations. We added a lot of tulle underneath so it was a bit bigger."
Her bridesmaids' dresses, with Marilyn Monroe-style halter necks, also came via the internet but were made to order.
The cake was made by Pukekohe specialist Strawberry Sky Cakes. Owner Emma Hogg said it was one of the tallest cakes she'd created.
"She had white chocolate on the bottom, then strawberry, then rich chocolate, then strawberry."
Hogg designed the cake, but it was Roseanne Seymour's inspiration. It took three days to make.
Hogg said Seymour was a joy to work with. "She's absolutely gorgeous. There's nothing pretentious about her at all. She's open and warm and lovely. It was a really lovely cake for me to work on - totally out of the ordinary."
Asked about the cost, Hogg said: "Expensive is all I'll say."
Roseanne Seymour said she "cried with happiness" when she saw the cake. "Our wedding day was a fairy-tale dream and we loved every moment." She said the highlight was marrying the love of her life.
The wedding car was a bright yellow stretch Hummer limousine, the ceremony was held at St Matthew-in-the-City, and the celebrations continued at Auckland's Soul Bar.
The couple were "animal lovers" which meant Pinky was part of the day, too, in a canine tutu.
The newlyweds, Queenslanders, are preparing to head to the UK where Brett Seymour will play for Hull. "We just love New Zealand. We'll be very sad to leave."
