Serves 4
1 French stick
1 cup of prepared mayo
1/2 cup butter
1 medium white onion
3 cloves of garlic
Bottled jalapeno chillies (optional)
1 Cut the bread into 5 and slice each piece in half lengthways.
2 Finely dice the onion.
3 Crush the garlic.
4 Mash these into the mayo and softened butter.
5 Spread this mix generously onto each piece of bread.
6 If you like a bit of heat, top with some jalapeno slices.
7 Cover the grill plate of the barbecue with a sheet of tinfoil and sit the bread on this.
If your barbecue has a lid, put this on and cook until the bread is toasted and the mayo/butter mix is bubbly.
You can also cook this in the oven. Put in at a medium heat for 10-15 minutes.
