Cameron Diaz has always said twitty things in interviews, in which she tries her hardest to be cute-quirk:

* "I've been noticing gravity since I was very young."

* "I would kiss a frog even if there were no promise of a Prince Charming popping out of it. I love frogs. I'd lick him."

* "I'm always travelling for cock. You've got to go where it is." (Actually, that one's quite funny. I'll give you that one, Diaz.)

But this time the actress has really irritated people. Like, properly. In an interview with UK's Sunday Times, she spoke out on behalf of all women, saying that:

"... every woman does want to be objectified. There's a little part of you at all times that hopes to be somewhat objectified, and I think it's healthy"

And: "It's empowering .... They're like, 'Today we're not going to put anything other than undergarments and heels on you,' and I'm like, 'These heels are not high enough.'"

Obviously it's not my place to dictate how Diaz/anyone should think. If she feels on top of the world when she's objectified, noted for little else than her appearance, then so be it. It's certainly served her well in Hollywood.

(Not that she's cool with anyone pointing that out: "If a woman who's a successful actress weighs 300 pounds and has warts, nobody ever asks her, 'Do you think you made it because you're ugly?'")

Nonetheless: ARRRRGHHHH. Won't someone think of the small, maleable girl fans?

I get what she means. I do. There's a thrill in being appreciated for your perceived hotness and few people are immune to the pleasure in that. It's just, the world doesn't need another privileged celebrity who aspires to little else, then waves it about like she's empowerment personified.
