Auckland appearances by Sydney-based Tongan rapper 6 Pound have been cancelled after he was involved in a collision with a taxi last Saturday.
The hip-hop artist, real name Charles Lomu, suffered serious injuries and is expected to remain in Sydney's Prince Alfred Hospital for several days.
Promoter Mark Kneebone said a Sydney taxi driver was arrested shortly after the incident which he described as a hit and run.
He said Mr Lomu is comfortable and is recovering well.
6 Pound was to hold an album release party in Auckland tomorrow night and was scheduled to appear at the Pasifika Festival this weekend.
A New Zealand tour, including Auckland, Wellington, Hamilton and Christchurch, is now being planned for April.
