She counts Lorde as a client and has done her part to make the quintessential Kiwi summer drink fashionable again.
And now milkshake entrepreneur Deanna Yang, right - the woman behind the popular central Auckland Moustache and Cookie Bar - is joining forces with Anchor Milk to find the country's best milkshake.
The 24-year-old guest judge is preparing to tour the country next year on a quest for milkshake excellence.
Yang said there were three important components to perfecting a great milkshake. The texture had to be smooth, it had to have a creamy, milky taste and it was important to never skimp on good quality ingredients.
Her favourite is a chocolate Ferrero Rocher creation. "It's decadent and rich and I love it," said Yang, who admitted it was a struggle to limit herself to one a fortnight.
