Thomas Beatie, the man who last year made headlines around the world when he became pregnant, has given birth to a second child, the ABC news website reports.
Beatie, 35, and his wife Nancy, 46, have not yet decided on a name for their new baby boy, who was born yesterday morning.
The child is a brother for the couple's daughter Susan Juliette, who was born in July last year.
Beatie, a transsexual, kept his female reproductive organs when he had his sex-reassignment surgery more than a decade ago.
Nancy had previously had a hysterectomy, preventing her from becoming pregnant herself, but she breastfed Susan after Beatie gave birth last year and will do so again with the new baby.
Both the couple's children were delivered naturally.
In an interview with Barbara Walters last year Beatie said he was surprised how quickly his story travelled around the world after he wrote an article in gay magazine The Advocate, revealing his pregnancy.
"I was shocked that it looped around the world in 24 hours," he told Walters.
But despite all the attention - both positive and negative - Beatie and his wife have tried to maintain the quiet life they lead in the US town of Bend, Oregon.
"We are a man, woman and child," he told Walters last year.
"It's ironic that we are so different but yet, we're just a family, just the same as anyone else."
