Comedy Central's controversial cartoon South Park has won a Peabody Award, one of the most prestigious awards for broadcasting excellence in news and entertainment in the US.
Awards director Horace Newcomb praised the show's take-no-prisoners approach to satire, saying it "pushes all the buttons, turns up the heat, and shatters every taboo".
