KEY POINTS:
Claudia Zinzan is a woman of many talents: as well as acting as the general manager for luxury childrenswear brand Nurtured by Nature, she also helped design the interior for the brand's lovely concept store.
Zinzan was responsible for the fit-out of the gallery-like space, which features antique lamps and chairs, vintage teacups and a very special Nina Campbell parakeet wallpaper from London. "I wanted to encapsulate the feeling of the brand and to visually tell the story of our underlying concepts of timelessness, understated luxury, warmth, gentleness, all the while being sympathetic to the surrounding environment," says Zinzan, who has been with the company since 2006.
Her name might already be familiar to some: she previously launched the label Nice+Clean with a friend. Her own style is somewhat similar to the childrenswear that she works with - simple, no-fuss and classic.
What is your favourite accessory?
I really find it uncomfortable wearing jewellery or accessories, especially belts and dangling necklaces, and usually take them off within half an hour. But I do love red nail polish or red lipstick once every six months.
What is your favourite shop?
Bhana Brothers for flowers, Wallace Cotton for linen, and tkStore for dresses.
What is your beauty routine?
I wash my face when I wake up with fancy cleanser, and use Nellie Tier face oil to wash away the guilt of going to bed with my makeup on.
Your favourite shop elsewhere?
This would have to be Takashimaya in New York. Nurtured by Nature is presented so beautifully in their stunning store.
What can't you live without?
Diamond earrings, they make me look presentable without thinking.
Your best beauty tip?
Chanel Vitalumiere foundation.
Is there anything you'd never wear?
Large, layered, billowing skirts with bows.
If money were no option?
I would never run out of eye makeup remover.
You feel best wearing?
Black silk. I own a beautiful dress by Salasai. It's very short; covers my sins but shows off my legs.
What do you really want this coming season?
I'm desperate to fork out for some flat-heeled, beautiful leather boots. I've been waiting to buy quality, instead of making do because of price. But of course I am delusional, we have to finish our kitchen.
What's your biggest indulgence/guilty pleasure?
Parmesan cheese biscuits by 180 Degrees. I hate the day I discovered these. Highly recommended; not for sharing.
Who or what inspires you?
I feel inspired after eight hours sleep and stopping after the second glass the night before. I can think when I follow this rule.
Whose wardrobe would you most like to raid?
Maggie Gyllenhaal's. I am a wardrobe raider, my friends are very generous with their clothes!
What is the most underrated item in fashion?
The iron. I iron everything, including teatowels, pillowslips, boxer shorts and T-shirts. It makes a world of difference; and Nurtured by Nature lavender water.
What is the best way to recycle your old clothes?
Richmond Rd School's clothing bin.
What is the best city for fashion shopping in the world?
I tend to buy most of my clothes on Nurtured by Nature sales trips. Zara is a great staple in London. I also picked up some beautiful dresses in India.
