Pornhub traffic spikes during YouTube outage

If you were one of those people wondering what people were doing while YouTube is down, this could be the answer.

Pornhub has released data that shows a surge in traffic to the website during the period YouTube was down on Wednesday.

Traffic on the porn website went up 12 per cent while YouTube was down.

Stats show some search terms in particular spiked in popularity during that period.

ASMR increased by 201 per cent, with people looking for an Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response (which they would normally find on YouTube).

The search term "youtube" on Pornhub saw a popularity increase of 183 percent.

Pornhub says the percentages reflect "a significant increase by millions of additional viewers during Pornhub's peak evening hours".

Once YouTube went back up, traffic on Pornhub went down to its usual levels.
