Since 1996, Britain's eternal misfits have produced music that veers between excellent, brooding glam-rock and whiny, gothic dirge.
This singles collection caps off the highs - and lows - of their career, from the anxiety-fuelled hits of their self-titled debut through the mire of Black Water Music and Once More With Feeling and into the splendour of last year's thrilling Sleeping With Ghosts.
A limited-edition bonus disc featuring remixes by Timo Maas, Alpine Allstars and a collaboration with David Bowie does little more than cast them as modern-day Pet Shop Boys doing distorted electroclash. Good for a laugh.
New tracks: I Do, Twenty Years: dour and sluggish, this is Placebo at their most self-indulgent.
Key tracks: Nancy Boy, Pure Morning, You Don't Care About Us, Every You, Every Me, Special K, The Bitter End.
Placebo: Once More With Feeling
