A photo posted on the popular Humans of New York Facebook page showing a man with his rescue dog has prompted a flood of responses from readers sharing their own dog adoption success stories.
The man told Humans of New York photographer Brandon Stanton his dog "has a lot of
PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). She was born in a shelter so she spent the first four months of her life in a cage." But, slowly, the dog is recovering. "There are some morning when she even asks to go outside ... It's so great to see her enjoy the outdoors."
