Pavarotti's charitable finale

Luciano Pavarotti will sing for Bosnians in Sarajevo on April 8 as part of his 40-city farewell world tour. The tenor's concert will crown a decade of efforts to raise funds through recordings, auctions and charity concerts for child victims of Bosnia's war.

Italian soprano Carmela Remiglio will sing with Pavarotti, accompanied by the Sarajevo Philharmonia.

In 1997 Pavarotti was given an award for raising £5 million ($13 million) to set up a musical therapy centre for children traumatised by the fighting.
