SAO PAULO, Brazil - Tenor Luciano Pavarotti has postponed concerts in Latin America and Europe because of health problems, a Brazilian state media office said today.
The Italian star was taken to a hospital in New York on Tuesday night, the Minas Gerais state government said.
Pavarotti was scheduled to appear in a concert in Belo Horizonte, in Minas Gerais state, on Saturday.
"According to a statement from the artist's agents, Terri Robson and Harvey Goldsmith, the shows in Pavarotti's world tour in Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Portugal and Bosnia were postponed for at least 60 days until the tenor has recovered," a statement from the Minas Gerais press office said.
No other details were immediately available.
