Pros: The map of Rome is easy to navigate and looks good at high magnification. The Italian phrases are substantial and the audio smooth.
Cons: There's no ability to search the maps by street. The video and picture content is of marginal use and blurbs about Roman attractions are patchy.
Verdict: A clever concept from Sony but much of Lonely Planet's travel information is skin-deep, making Passport to Rome useful only for basic orientation.
