'Parent of the year': Mum's X-rated children's food mishap

Most parents have had those moments where they realise they've made a blunder.

Whether it be forgetting to change a nappy or letting your child watch a TV show they shouldn't have.

But one mum from the UK has taken the cake after an absent-minded decision at the supermarket left her kids eating a rather X-rated surprise.

In a post to Facebook, Rebecca Brett said she was trying to buy some "smiley face" pasta for her young children but instead returned home with a "bowl of dicks".

"Okay so the Mum of the Year award most definitely does not go to me today," she starts.

"Wandered down to the market and Ava begged me for some 'smiley face' pasta she saw. So I bought it, cooked it for the girls for lunch today.

"Thought it looked a bit odd, re-looked at the bag and IT'S ONLY BLOODY PENIS PASTA.

"How could I not even realise even while cooking it?! So my 3 year old and 7 month old are currently sat eating a bowl of dicks for their lunch. Life."

Rebecca Brett's hilarious parenting fail has had more than 321,000 reactions and attracted more than 163,000 shares on Facebook.

While Brett received some criticism over her 'nutrition choices' for her children, the majority of people have praised the mother of two for brutally honest and hilarious outlook on the reality of parenthood.

"I love this made me chuckle this is what being a mum is all about the funny quirks it's great something to look back on when they're teens hahaha," one person wrote.

Another added: "This s**t was hilarious. & the kids have no clue. I love these kinds of posts. Shows the human side of mothering."
