LONDON - Aimee Osbourne, the publicity-shy older daughter of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne who spurned a part in the family's TV show, has had surgery after a breast cancer scare.
Sharon Osbourne said Aimee, 21, had found a lump in her breast but that the operation to remove it "went very well."
Sharon and Aimee Osbourne canceled their parts in the London theater production of "The Vagina Monologues" for Aimee's treatment.
"The operation went very well on the whole but there have been a few minor complications and she will be having more treatment and lots of rest over the next few weeks," said Sharon Osbourne, who herself had a cancer scare in 2002.
"We're sure she'll make a complete recovery. Thanks so much for all of your support - you've all been fabulous," she added in a statement. "Health really is the most important thing in life. After the 12 months we've had, no one realizes that more than me. I promise to let you know the second that she gets the all-clear."
This latest Osbourne misfortune follows a blaze at the family's Buckinghamshire home in March, a burglary four months ago and Ozzy Osbourne's near-fatal quad bike accident in December 2003.
In July 2002, Sharon Osbourne was diagnosed with colon cancer, but made a full recovery. The Osbournes' son Jack has since been treated for drug addiction and their other daughter Kelly has received treatment for a painkiller addiction.
