Australian TV royalty came out in force for the Seven Network's 50 years of television event, broadcast live from Sydney's Star City Casino.
They included Bud Tingwell, on-screen for more than 30 years in shows including The Sullivans, Cop Shop and Homicide.
"I've enjoyed every minute," the 83-year-old said. "Looking at old clips, our standards were a lot higher than we gave ourselves credit for."
Television was first broadcast to Australians on September 16, 1956, on TCN-9, with Bruce Gyngell saying: "Welcome to television."
