LAS VEGAS - Oprah Winfrey is finally making the jump to DVD, and some of the money that comes in from disc sales will benefit a charity.
"The Oprah Winfrey Show: 20th Anniversary DVD Collection," set for release in November, is a multidisc compilation of highlights from the show's two decades on the air.
The "Oprah" DVD set also will feature behind-the-scenes footage and interviews in which Winfrey reflects on her broadcasting career and her show's most memorable moments.
"Every show you'll see here holds such profound meaning for me," Winfrey said.
Winfrey's share of proceeds will go to Oprah's Angel Network. Established in 1998, the public charity has raised more than US$30 million for nonprofit organizations.
"The Oprah Winfrey Show" is seen by an estimated 30 million viewers a week in the US alone, and according to Nielsen has remained the No. 1 talk show for 18 consecutive seasons.
