Rock stars in excess
JD Fortune and the Rock Star INXS crew were along at the late Zambesi show with Aussie soap star Melissa George who is now in the cast of 24.
The All Blacks perfect 10 Dan Carter was also there. Team-mate Ali Williams took in a few shows including Yvonne Bennetti with his girlfriend Casey Green. Telly types were also out in force on the final day.
God bless!
A guest at the Miranda Brown show was left looking for divine intervention after putting her foot in it when asking questions of another guest. He told her he was there to watch his daughter's show. When she asked what he did, he said, "Bishop of Wellington". She replied: "And I'm a porn star." Only to discover, yes, he was the bishop, the Right Rev Dr Thomas Brown.
More work needed
Newbies got their chance on the final trade day of Fashion Week. The morning kicked off with the Deutz Fashion Design Ambassador Show, where AUT fashion student Sherie Muys' winning collection of stylised white shirts for women was shown. The Deutz show highlighted a diverse range of rising talent, but AUT's Rookie show was somewhat underwhelming. One established designer on the scout for juniors to join her team was less than impressed with the rookies' offerings, noting much uniformity. Sarah An was the one designer to stand out from the pack with her colourful range of 60s tunic dresses and a stylish tartan coat.
Young and eager
Turned away from the after-party for Huffer were several of the show's models - too young to go drinking.
The last word
We'd like to see the end of the goodie bag culture. And we bet without them a lot of freeloaders would disappear from the venue. Like the people who crash the corporate hospitality parties and get their hair and makeup done. Get a real job, we know who you are.
