The countdown to our biggest fashion event begins next month, with international guest Tim Blanks hosting a Fashion Week lunch.
Blanks, a respected international fashion commentator who fronts a weekly television programme, Fashion File, will talk about catwalk life at the lunch at White restaurant on June 16. He will share his opinion on where New Zealand fashion sits globally and talk about his life in the fashion world.
From Karen Walker to Miuccia Prada, Blanks has studied the rise and fall of the great names of fashion over three decades.
His credits include Vogue magazines on two continents, the British fashion press, Vanity Fair and his television programme, Fashion File, which screens in 120 countries.
Life for Blanks - who estimates he has seen around 6000 fashion shows - goes like this: menswear in Milan in January, then menswear and couture in Paris, then New York, maybe London, then Milan womenswear.
The fashion route is repeated in September and October with a trip to Brazil or some other part of the world during the year.
As well as Blanks, the two-course lunch event will feature a fashion show from leading New Zealand designers, a goodie bag and a prize draw for tickets to this year's Fashion Week, sponsored by Air New Zealand.
Tickets are $125 each. To book, phone Robyn on (09) 377 8033 or email Robyn@nzfashionweek.com
