Liam Gallagher, wild-man vocalist of British rock band Oasis detained after a brawl in a five-star Munich hotel at the weekend, has been freed after posting bail of more than US$100,000 ($200,700).
A Munich police source said that Gallagher was released on Monday. He faces charges of grievous bodily assault and resisting arrest for beating several people, including a police officer.
Gallagher, 30, lost several teeth in the brawl, the latest in a string of misadventures for the singer. "The boy didn't look good, several of his teeth were punched out," said Munich police spokesman Christoph Reichenbach.
Gallagher's spokeswoman said he would spend much of today in a dentist's chair. A promoter said a planned Hamburg gig had been cancelled.
Liam's brother Noel was not involved in the brawl.
