Coromandel and Northland are the most popular destinations for Kiwi holiday makers this summer, a new survey reveals.
According to the poll of 7000 Kiwis on Trade Me's Travelbug website - Coromandel topped the favoured destination list with 18 per cent of the votes. Northland came in second with 14 per cent, while 12 per cent of voters said they'd spend their summer in the Nelson Tasman region.
Travelbug spokesman Brad Monaghan said Kiwis were more likely to be swayed by food, parking or a late check-put when booking accommodation online. Water sunshine and space were also a priority.
More than 60 per cent of the survey respondents wanted breakfast and a spot for the people-mover included with their room, and more than half were keen for a sleep-in.
Dinner and internet were seen as less enticing, with chocolate and a bottle of bubbly being a very low priority for the Kiwi holiday maker.
