NZ Idol Matt Saunoa has raced to number one on the New Zealand singles chart this week, with his debut track Hold On.
The reality star knocked British crooner James Morrison of his perch, just ten days after winning the competition.
21-year-old Saunoa beat fellow competitor Indira Moala to take the NZ Idol title last month, taking away the single recording contract, a new car and $50,000 cash.
Unlike previous years, Saunoa was not awarded a contract to record a full album.
