More than 58,000 people visited the New Zealand exhibition at this year's Venice Biennale.
At the last biennale, in 2001, about 22,000 people visited the New Zealand exhibition.
Creative NZ chief executive Elizabeth Kerr said the increased numbers were a testament to the interest in Michael Stevenson's installation This Is the Trekka, and increasing global awareness of New Zealand art.
This Is the Trekka highlighted the story of the Trekka, an all-terrain vehicle built in New Zealand in the 1960s.
