She may not have taken out the title of New Zealand's Next Top Model, but Ruby Higgins has certainly gone on to better and brighter things since appearing on the TV show.
The 18-year-old from Hawkes Bay won over NZNTM audiences with her cheek and charm, and now has two presenting roles for C4 under her belt.
Last month she covered NZ Fashion Week for the station - asking Pamela Anderson about possums ruining our ecosystem and wearing pieces from young designer Serena Fagence in the front row - and last week she presented the backstage action at the Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards. We hope to see more from this adorable girl, and soon.
Who are your favourite designers?
I don't have a favourite, it's good to look at a range of designers and mix things up.
What was the last item of clothing you bought?
A velvet cropped jacket that I picked up from a second-hand store in Wellington. It is so cool!
Who does the best shoes?
I wear casual shoes a lot of the time because I like to have something comfortable to wear to school, so it's usually Chuck Taylors or something similar. I love Doc Martens but the blisters kind of put me off, they are still awesome though.
What's the one thing everyone should have in their wardrobe?
Everyone's different, so it's hard to say. It's always good to have a failproof outfit that you know will never let you down, something you can feel amazing in.
What do you really want this coming season?
Since it is coming into summer, I am on the look out for a pretty dress that I can live in all summer.
What is your beauty routine?
My beauty routine is kind of inconsistent, I try to cleanse, tone and moisturise everyday and wear an SPF moisturiser. And definitely take off makeup before bed.
What can't you live without?
Makeup-wise, concealer and lip balm definitely.
Whose wardrobe would you most like to raid, and why?
My friend Lucy's. She has the best clothes and some really cool second-hand stuff.
Is there anything you'd never wear?
Fur.
What is the biggest fashion/beauty/hair mistake you have ever made?
My hair is naturally quite "turbo" so any day that I don't contain it in some way is a hair mistake. A potential fashion mistake was when the zip on my skirt popped open and my skirt fell down to my ankles, luckily it wasn't in public.
The one rule you always dress by?
It's important to feel comfortable in what you're wearing, I hate feeling like my clothes are too short or something.
Personal style quirk?
I don't know if I have one... I always wear bows or flowers in my hair but other than that nothing too amazing.
Best city for fashion shopping in the world?
I can't say I've travelled extensively around the world, I have been to Milan which was amazing. Unfortunately the clothing was quite out of my price range.
Silliest trend you ever heard of?
Metal hand bags are silly. I saw some at ANZFW this year, not only are they silly they are potentially harmful! Imagine getting hit in the eye with one of those.
Which music makes you feel like dressing up?
I always feel like dressing up. I don't need music...
Not just a pretty face
