By LIZ VAN DER LAARSE
Luke sat back in his chair. What else was there? Only tea bags and sugar. He dropped a tea bag into a mug, followed by three teaspoons of sugar and put the jug on. When would Mum get home? What would they have for tea? The first night was always special. Maybe some chicken, or a roast. Na, Mum didn't usually cook a roast. Only if Blue was here. Mmm, Nan's roasts had been the best, with potatoes and kumara out of Pa's garden. Oh, come on, Mum. Luke pictured her at the supermarket, pushing the trolley way out in front of her big tum. Waddle, waddle, waddle. Maybe that was what was holding her up.
