Norah Jones, one of the world's biggest-selling singer-songwriters, slipped quietly into Wellington yesterday in preparation for her show at the Events Centre tonight.
More than 4400 tickets had been sold to the show. With only about 200 left, the show is expected to sell out.
Jones, who last played Wellington in 2003 at the 2430-seat Michael Fowler Centre, has persistently turned down requests for interviews on her latest tour.
Auckland-based promoter Ian Magan said her main concern on arrival in Wellington was to rest after performing two sold-out shows in Auckland on Saturday and Sunday.
Jones has topped the charts around the world, selling more than 19 million copies of her debut album Come Away With Me since 2001 and nine million of the follow-up Feels Like Home. Come Away With Me was New Zealand's biggest- selling album in 2002 and the second-biggest in 2003. Feels Like Home was New Zealand's third-biggest-selling album last year.
