A furious neighbour whose grandchild overheard a passionate session of "afternoon delight" has penned an angry letter complaining their "performance" was too loud.
Queensland resident Ali Cashat claims to have received the embarrassing note penned by an anonymous grandmother who lived nearby.
The grandmother's letter reads: "Dear neighbours, this is a little embarrassing, however we thought it wise to bring it to your attention.
"Last weekend whilst taking my granddaughter to the beach we had the misfortune of walking past your property at an unfortunate moment.
"It was very difficult to explain to my young granddaughter the noises coming from your bedroom at the side of your house next to the path.
Cashat claims she and her wife were out of the country but that it was the house-sitter responsible for the "afternoon delight".
"Thank you Sunshine Coast community and to our diligent anonymous neighbour for bringing this unfortunate event to our attention."
"A recent case of mistaken identity has wrongfully accused the homeowners of a very vocal 'performance' in their home during the daytime."
"Unfortunately they were overseas at the time."
"The house-sitter has admitted to the 'afternoon delight'.
"The homeowners wish to express their sincere embarrassment over the false accusation as they've been married way too long to partake in such activities and with such gusto before sunset."
Sunshine Coast residents took to social media with many finding humour in the incident.
"So awesome to hear of people making love. My question is would they have preferred to hear two people in a domestic argument? I know which one I prefer," one said.
Another wrote: "This is hilarious! I can't believe someone would even go to the trouble [to write a letter]."
However, not everyone found the situation humorous, with some taking aim at the grandmother.
"Some people should just mind their own business. What goes on in your house or bedroom should have nothing to do with people walking past. I think this grandmother needs to get a life."
