Mum needed a shower, got 'empty dreams and a handful of s**t'

Laura Mazza is a busy mum. Her toddlers keep her on her toes and it's hard to find time to do things for herself.

Yesterday, Laura, who lives in Sydney, Australia, decided that, come hell or high water, she'd take a few minutes to herself so she could have a shower and feel a bit better.

She left her toddlers alone thinking surely they could behave for a few minutes without her supervision.

Laura was wrong.

Fifteen minutes after she'd left them, the mother posted on Facebook she returned to "an avalanche of s**t".

"I decided to investigate to see what shit storm they produced in the 15 minutes I used a face washer to wash my sins and slapped foundation on my cheeks," Laura described in a Facebook post.

"The smell got stronger and stronger as I walked down the hallway, and I noticed small thin light brown streaks on the walls, on the floors... everywhere... and as I walked further the streaks got bigger, and darker and handprints slapped like someone playing wack-a-mole on cocaine. Confident, aggressive and messy. Was it fake tan? Was it my dark foundation that I use when I think I'm snooki with my killer orange skin? What was it?"

Hoping it was chocolate sauce she'd spotted on her toddlers' hands, the mum continued to investigate the room, to a soundtrack of her children's naughty giggles.

It was poo.

"Sofia had taken off her nappy and decorated the house in her sinful waste... and mate, was she satisfied. And her brother, a willing accomplice to the potty party," the mum wrote on Facebook.

"This is why I don't take 'me time' because when I do, I'm left with empty dreams and a handful of s**t. Lesson learned, vanity is s**t, me time is bleak but at least my highlighter was on fleek.

The mum's post has been liked more than 1600 times in less than a day and received a number of comments from understanding parents who've found themselves in similar situations.
