A 49-year-old Australia mother is set to give birth to her own grandchild after generously offering to help her own daughter have a baby.
Sherrie Zammit is set to give her 31-year-old daughter Chloe Simmonds the gift of a new life after agreeing to be a surrogate for her grandchild-to-be.
A decade ago Chloe underwent a hysterectomy after she was diagnosed with cancer following the birth of her son.

Simmonds and her fiancé Dimitri were desperate to have a child together, but the surgery meant she was unable to have another baby.

"It was amazing – I think our bond of mother and daughter got really close," Chloe told 7 News.
"We're using Chloe's eggs, my sperm – and my mother-in-law is just the oven," fiancé Dimitri Pixomatis said.

The soon-to-be grandmother initially thought her pregnancy days were "done and dusted", but says she's really excited to the carrying her grandchild and help her daughter become a mother again.
