Moore nominated by Directors Guild for Fahrenheit 9/11

Michael Moore has been nominated by the Directors Guild of America for directorial achievement in documentary film-making for Fahrenheit 9/11, his assault on President George W Bush's actions regarding the September 11 attacks.

The guild also nominated Jehane Noujaim for Control Room. She won the award for 2001's Startup.com.

Other nominees are Byambasuren Davaa and Luigi Falorni for The Story of the Weeping Camel; Ross Kauffman and Zana Briski for Born Into Brothels; and Ross McElwee for Bright Leaves.

Winners will be announced on Saturday.
