His psychiatrist, played by Jeff Bridges, tries to help him, but begins to realise that Prot's well-intentioned philosophies and general demeanour are having a positive effect on the hospital's other patients. Spacey pulls off a good performance without turning the film to cheese. Starman meets Awakenings. (2001)
