'Modern Family' actress launches clothing line

Sofia Vergara thinks every woman will feel "comfortable and sexy" in her clothes.

The Modern Family actress has just launched her line with American retailer Kmart. Vergara created the collection with all women in mind.

"I was able to team with Kmart, create a line for every woman, every size, every ethnicity," Vergara told People magazine.

"[They can] look cute and comfortable and sexy, even when they're picking up their kids."

Vergara's line includes dresses, tops, jewellery, shoes and skirts among other items.

Although her clothes are inspired by high fashion designs, she thought it essential to sell her apparel at affordable prices.

"If animal print is in fashion we'll give them a little bit of that," Vergara said.

"I wanted a woman to be able to buy clothes and to look in magazines and say, 'Oh, this looks a little bit like the dress I own for 20 bucks, though this is a $3000 dress."'

Vergara has put a lot of herself into this collection. She wears all of the clothes from the line and put a personal touch on all of the pieces.

"I've been wearing everything," she said.

"But I wanted to make my collection the way I dress, how I live. I didn't want to just give my name to a collection; I wanted to be a part of it."
