Models accused of being 'tone deaf' over Hurricane Irma racy pics

Several models have been accused of insensitivity for posting good-will messages to the victims of Hurricane Irma - accompanied by racy bikini and lingerie pictures.

Kara Del Toro, a 25-year-old American model, posted a picture on social media of her in a bikini on a beach on the Turks and Caicos islands, which were struck by the devastating hurricane in the early hours of Friday morning, the Daily Telegraph reports.

She wrote to her 495,000 followers on Instagram: "Sending positive thoughts and good vibes to the islands right now."

Comments on the post accused her of being "tone deaf".

"Oh yep, your body will definitely help the newly homeless," another comment read.

Lana Alexandra, a Ukrainian model, reassured her 27,000 followers that she was safe in San Juan, Puerto Rico - with a picture of her in black, lacy lingerie.

She wrote: "Still have two days of vacation here and going to take as much as I can out of it."

One comment on the post stated: "Talk about tone deaf, as people are losing all of their property and in some cases their lives this is what you post?"

Dana Hamm, an American model, posted a topless photo from a recent trip she made to the island of St Maarten, asking followers to "keep [the island's residents] in your prayers".
