Nicole Trunfio has posed for an intimate portrait with her four-month-old son Zion.
The Australian model is pictured breastfeeding her baby on a special subscribers cover for the June issue of ELLE Australia.
The stunning cover, which goes on sale Monday, shows the 29-year-old cradling the bub, a camel-coloured Burberry coat slipping off her left shoulder.
The natural moment beautifully captures the bond Nicole shares with her first and only child, who she and American musician husband Gary Clarke Jr welcomed into the world in January.
The US-based model has also posed for a separate newsstand cover, which shows her cradling Zion in a Prada dress.
In the accompany article Trunfio, who has worked with Versace, Chanel, Christian Dior and Gucci discussed having taken to motherhood "like a duck to water".
Her reaction to the cover reveals her new-found joy.
"When I saw the cover of me breastfeeding, which was unplanned and just natural, I teared up and thought, 'Wow this is such a special moment where my worlds have collided'."
The Perth-born stunner also took to Instagram to explain the message behind the photo shoot: to reduce any stigma that still exists about women breastfeeding in public.
"There is nothing more powerful and beautiful than motherhood.
"The last thing I want to do is be controversial, so please take this for what it is, let us #normalizebreastfeeding there is nothing worse than a mother that is judged for feeding her hungry child in public. #weareonlyhuman
"I'm so proud of this cover and for what it's stands for. I obviously don't look like this while I am breastfeeding but this stands for all women out there, whether you breastfeed or not, we gave birth, we are women, we are mothers. Thank you to ELLE for being so bold and making such an encouraging, positive and healthy statement."
Meanwhile ELLE editor-in-chief Justine Cullen revealed the breastfeeding shot wasn't planned.
"This wasn't a contrived situation: Zion needed a feed, Nicole gave it to him, and when we saw how beautiful they looked we simply moved her onto the set," she revealed on the ELLE website.
"It was a completely natural moment that resulted in a powerful picture."
Nicole and her fiance welcomed Zion into the world on January 11, but it wasn't until last month they revealed their son's name.
Nicole isn't the first celebrity to be photographed while breastfeeding.
Fellow Australian Miranda Kerr famously posed for a photo while breastfeeding son Flynn just days after his birth.
Supermodel Gisele Bundchen famously posed for a photo with her child at her breast while in the makeup chair as she prepared for a photo shoot.
Baring baby bumps has also been a popular choice for celebrity mums-to-be; Demi Moore, Megan Gale, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera are some of the most high-profile women to strip down for a magazine cover when expecting.
