The new Miss World New Zealand has been crowned and this year's she hails from Auckland and hopes to one day be a clinical psychologist.
Karla de Beer, 22, took the title at a ceremony at the Sky City Convention Centre last night after being crowned Miss Auckland last year.
She was handed the crown by last year's winner Deborah Lambie who performed the controversial haka at the Miss World pageant in December which some social media users slammed as "embarrassing".
Miss de Beer graduated from the University of Auckland with a double major in psychology and English and on her Miss Auckland page said she's been interested in helping others her whole life and would like to become a clinical psychologist.
She is currently working in human resources as a learning and development trainer.
