Kerr, 28, described the Camilla range as flirtatious, before adding: "And what I love about her kaftans is that they're quite versatile; you can wear them on the beach and then you can dress them up with a heel to go out at night if you like."
Even her seven-month-old son, Flynn, has his own special kaftan - or "man-tan", as Kerr called it.
Breaking up the sea of colours were crisp white designs in linen by Zimmerman and classic blacks and nudes by Kirrily Johnston.
Animal prints also featured in the collections of Isola and Little Joe Woman, while swimwear brand Jets showed off a panelled and geometric range, with Kerr stunning guests in a one-piece with plunging neckline.
Standing out from the crowd were the grungy designs of Ksubi. With an expected rock 'n' roll theme, Ksubi's pieces included leather and denim-studded jackets, black acid jeans, torn tee's with tie-dye pink washes, and bold skull emblems.
When it came to men's fashion, bold was also in with another clear theme - suit jackets matched with shorts.
Calibre went with pink and navy-checked shirts, 'flamingo' pink shorts (still mid-thigh) and striped sportscoats. Similar was seen at Brent Wilson The Basics, but red and navy checks and stripes dominated.
Despite all the bright colours, animal prints and celebrities in the front row, all eyes were on Kerr, who is in Australia, and will be here for another week, after 18 months abroad.
The David Jones' fashion ambassador admitted feeling a tad nervous about returning to the catwalk, while also knowing that 20 family members were in the audience.
"I'm a little nervous about getting back on the runway after just having a baby, seven months ago, in a swimsuit. It's the first time I'll be in a swimsuit on the runway (since the birth) with 600 people watching."
Signalling the end of the show and the countdown to spring, was nothing but white - with all-white suits and white lace dresses.
Kerr closed the night in a white mini, flashing the cameras a smile and a wave as she exited.
