Miranda Kerr 'on the mend'

Australian model Miranda Kerr has thanked fans for their well wishes following her car accident in Los Angeles on Monday.

She has assured followers she is "on the mend''.

The Victoria's Secret Angel was a passenger in a vehicle when it was hit by an alleged drunk driver, and she was hospitalised to treat whiplash and back injuries.

Kerr is sporting a neck brace as she recovers from the accident, and she has returned to her Twitter page to update fans on her condition.

"Thanks for all the messages of support, I'm on the mend!'' she writes.

She has returned to work today, shooting material for her organic cosmetics brand, Kora. She posted a picture on Instagram of herself in a leopard print bikini, soaped up in a tub.

"Easing back in to work ... taking it one day at a time," she wrote alongside the picture.

A man has been arrested in connection with the crash and is expected to be charged by police.
