She's more suited to sequins than mosh pits, but Kylie Minogue is to be a headline act at this year's Glastonbury Festival in Britain.
Minogue would close the three-day festival in June with a high-tech extravaganza, organisers said.
Festival founder Michael Eavis said he had rejected Minogue's previous advances to get on the bill but believed she deserved her place this year because "she's proved she's a real professional and the show will be spectacular".
Minogue said she will "be nervous beforehand" but that she was "really excited". "They offered," she said. "I was as shocked as anyone, but I'm so chuffed they asked. It feels like the right moment for me to do it."
