KEY POINTS:
Former Miss New Zealand Amber Peebles looked - literally - a million bucks last night.
The MTV host attracted all eyes as she stepped out at Auckland's SkyCity casino in a dress adorned with $1 million in gaming chips.
The event was a celebrity invitational poker tournament, being held to launch the SkyCity Festival of Poker this week.
The dress, which was specially created for the event and will never be worn again, featured two hundred casino chips worth $5000 each and weighed more than two kilograms.
Amber had her own personal security detail while she wore the dress.
"When I saw the dress and how much trouble they'd gone to, I thought it looked really amazing. I mean, how many times does a girl get to wear a million bucks?", said Peebles.
The week of poker tournaments culminates in a championship that features world superstars of the game such as Joe Hachem and Chris Moneymaker, both winners of the World Series of Poker main event.
