Welcome to 2018, when new parents are said to be choosing the name of their baby based on whether or not it is available as a domain name online.
Baby name books or online best and worst lists are no longer enough. Now you must give your child a name that can work as a domain name (guessing .com preferably, because you wouldn't want to close any doors).
According to a survey conducted by GoDaddy (take it with a generous pinch of salt, since they are a domain registrar), 20 per cent of millennials have created a website for their baby.
Out of those, 79 per cent say they would change their child's name based on what domains were free.
Additionally, another 18 per cent of millennial parents said they were considering creating a website for their young child.
