Britain's senior royals have gathered to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the investiture of Prince Charles as the Prince of Wales.
The gala event at Buckingham Palace was hosted Tuesday by Queen Elizabeth II.
Charles was joined by his wife, Camilla, his two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, and their wives, Kate and Meghan, who put their differences aside for the event, although they were not spotted speaking with each other.
The 70-year-old Charles was formally invested with the title Prince of Wales at a ceremony at Caernarfon Castle by his mother, the queen, in 1969.

The investiture regalia he wore that day was on display at the celebration.
The event is a relatively rare gathering of all the senior royals at Buckingham Palace.
It comes as it was announced that Meghan will join an International Women's Day panel discussion with a group of female leaders including former Australian prime minister Julia Gillard.
Gillard, the Duchess, and others including pop star Annie Lennox will join a panel at Kings College in London to discuss issues facing women today.

The event, on March 8, has been organised by the Queen's Commonwealth Trust and will bring together activists and thought-leaders working to improve the lives of women and girls.
Since leaving office in 2013, Gillard, Australia's first and only female prime minister, has been campaigning globally to improve education for girls. She is also the chair of the Global Institute for Women's Leadership at Kings College.
Lennox, who found fame as half of the '80s hit duo the Eurythmics, has an OBE and founded a global organisation called The Circle, which supports and empowers women. Other speakers include educational activists and community leaders from Africa.

The panel will look at obstacles to female equality and empowerment, and examine ways to give women better opportunities in their work, education, and general lives.
Meghan's husband Prince Harry is the president of the Queen's Commonwealth Trust, and Meghan and Harry are focusing a large part of their time on supporting initiatives for young people across the commonwealth.
The Duchess is seven month pregnant with her first child, which is due in late April or early May.
