Meg Ryan calls chat show host Parkinson 'nuts'

Meg Ryan has branded chat show host Michael Parkinson a "nut" over their infamous TV encounter in 2003.

Few viewers will forget Ryan's excruciating appearance on Parkinson. He tried to quiz Ryan about her erotic thriller In The Cut, a departure from her usual romantic comedy roles, only to be met by one-word answers and icy stares.

But in an interview with Marie Claire, Ryan, 44, said it was all Parkinson's fault. "I don't even know the man. That guy was like some disapproving father! It's crazy. I don't know what he is to you guys, but he's a nut."

Parkinson has described the prickly encounter as his "most difficult TV moment".
