Max Key's glamorous Instagram life may have met its match.

The Prime Minister's son's profile has no doubt been raised by his curated selfies and high end holiday snaps on the social media app.

And it seems his documentation of a lifestyle beyond the grasp of the average New Zealander has sparked a response from one Kiwi bloke.

Enter "Max Quay", the antithesis to Max Key.

The Instagram account @maxkeybeingme parodies @maxkey_'s adventures and tropical getaways with beauty queen girlfriend Amelia Finlayson.

The account also offers its own spin on Key's original captions.

Max Key wrote: "A year ago today this girl walked into my life and changed everything for the better. We've had our ups and downs like any couple, but we keep pushing through and coming out top."

Max Quay shares: "A month or two ago this girl stumbled into my life and changed everything for the different. We've had our ups and downs and side to sides and diagonal shifts like any couple, but we keep pushing through and coming out near the top - like small burrowing mammals."

The parody account has attracted 397 followers after sharing five posts.
