LOS ANGELES - Actor Matt Damon, star of "The Bourne Identity", has married his girlfriend, Luciana Barroso, in New York, a spokeswoman for the actor said today.
Damon and Barroso, who is three months pregnant with the couple's first child, were wed in New York and were "thrilled," said hisLos Angeles-based spokeswoman. She declined to give further details about how they might celebrate or a honeymoon ahead.
Celebrity magazine Us Weekly reported the pair married in a private ceremony at New York City Hall with Barroso's 6-year-old daughter from a previous relationship at their side.
Damon, 35, has been involved with Barroso, 30, a former Miami bartender, for about two years. The couple became engaged in September.
The actor first rose to stardom in 1997 low-budget movie "Good Will Hunting," which he co-wrote and starred in with his friend Ben Affleck. The movie earned the pair an Oscar for original screenplay.
Early in his career, Damon earned a reputation as a solid actor in films like 1999's "The Talented Mr. Ripley," but he hit a professional bump when movies like "The Legend of Bagger Vance" and "All the Pretty Horses" failed to excite fans.
Damon rebounded when 2002's "The Bourne Identity" became a big hit at box offices. Other recent successes include "Ocean's Eleven," "Ocean's Twelve," and "The Bourne Supremacy."
He is shooting a new movie, "The Good Shepherd," in New York.
