From a mini Katy Perry to a light-up Christmas tree, the expert manicurists at the Nail Sunny salon have earned viral fame with their experimental nail art.

And while the latest look sweeping the Russian social media account has been viewed over 1 million times on Facebook and Instagram, it has certainly caused a divide among their legions of followers, reports The DailyMail.

Fans of the nail salon, which has several branches in Moscow and has gained a cult following, have questioned the practicality of a new - and outlandish - experimental design, which features a tiny spinning pole dancer.

The design, which was first posted earlier this month but has since gone viral on social media, caused one social media user to write "absolutely not," while another penned: "What if the needle went in her finger?"

Another simply wrote: "Wtf," while Elise Brugger penned: "What the f*** who wants a stripper on their nail."

The tiny dancer spins, complete with a tuft of florescent hair, spins around a thin pole inserted into the middle of the nail which is made almost entirely from acrylic.

Loyalty ? YAY OR NAY? #nailsunnytransformation #nailsunnytutorial Video by @edo_movs

Despite some taking to social media to question the practicality of the design for completing everyday tasks, others revealed they were tempted to ask their own manicurists to recreate the design in their local salon.

The video showing how the quirky design was made was captioned 'YAY OR NAY?' on Instagram and received a flood of comments, with many tagging friends to share their views.

The sisters who founded Nail Sunny brought their creations to Russia after previously spotting experimental beauty trends whilst living in Los Angeles.
