A man who boasts about eating cats because he likes the taste of their meat has outraged animal lovers.
Martin Buhlmann, 72, from Lucerne told a Swiss TV programme: "The meat of a cat is pleasant and easy to digest. It tastes better than rabbit. It is as ethical as sushi or seafood."
Eating cats and dogs remains legal in Switzerland, despite frequent protests by animal rights groups.
Tomi Tomek, from cat protection charity SOS Chats, said: "It's an old tradition. They even have a recipe for kittens with thyme and rosemary. But it has to stop. It is shocking that this is still allowed by law."
