Magnificent seven for Oasis

One-time bad boys of Britpop Oasis have stormed their way to the top of the British charts with Lyla, their seventh number one single.

The release, taken from the Manchester band's upcoming album Don't Believe The Truth, knocked American hip-hop artist Akon's Lonely to second place after two weeks in pole position.

America's Black Eyed Peas, another hip-hop act, debuted at number three with their new single Don't Phunk With My Heart.
