Madonna to debut new single at Music Awards

LONDON - Madonna will perform the first single from her new album at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Lisbon next month, joining Coldplay, Green Day and Robbie Williams on stage at the annual show, MTV said.

It will be the first worldwide live TV performance of Hung Up, the launch track for Confessions on a Dance Floor, which is set for release on November 14.

The last time Madonna appeared at the MTV Europe Music Awards was in 2000 in Stockholm, where she won the Best Dance and Best Female categories.

This year's awards will be held on November 3.

British bands Coldplay and Gorillaz garnered five nominations each.
