Lord of the Rings music voted best soundtrack

The music to Lord Of The Rings has been voted the world's greatest movie soundtrack.

Canadian composer Howard Shore's music beat movies such as Gladiator and Lawrence Of Arabia to top a list of film masterpieces in a British vote.

More than 44,000 listeners cast votes in the poll for the London radio station Classic FM.

Shore's Rings score won one of the film's four Oscars last year.
